Artist Statement

I shot these dreamy landscapes after my husband died last year. Trees and trails disappearing in fog are metaphors for how none of us knows what lies ahead. My multiple-exposure cyanotypes of juxtaposed images like “You’re Everywhere & Nowhere” try to capture how reminders of my husband’s absence were everywhere I looked and in “Crushed” and “Hole in My Heart”, how life as I knew it was shattered. My photographs are hand-printed using the 170-year-old cyanotype process exposed in natural sunlight without UV light machines.
