Artist Statement

Elisabeth ?Lissa? Malloy is an explorer and naturalist. Born and raised in New England she explored (and still does) the woods, brooks, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Naturally this curiosity and spirit is reflected in her art. Lissa expresses emotions, natural beauty, interconnections, and whimsical stories. She finds inspiration in the tiny moments of a day. From that moment we round a corner on the trail and the pausing beat of a heart in a glint of light. Her style is most often a mixture of symbolism and naturalism.? Primarily self-taught until college, Lissa has received Bachelor?s in both Graphic Design and Drawing, and plans to one day earn a master's degree. She loves exploring mediums, styles, and genres, with a special fondness of working in oil and colored pencil.
