Artist Statement
Wilson is a Central Illinois born and based designer and regionalist photographer. His photographs provide an authentic, artful, glimpse of the character and culture of the region. "It isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about reverence," said Wilson. "There are times it works out perfectly. There are times it fails miserably. I’m ok with both." Wilson was a medical, surgical, generalist photographer and executive writer in the healthcare field for 33 years - cut steel in a foundry for a decade and drove a truck for a time. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, the fine arts program at Illinois Central College, and juried Illinois Artisan for Photography, Illinois State Museum.
