Kate Blue

Artist Statement

Kate Blue is originally from South Dakota where she received multiple art scholarships and earned her Bachelors of Fine Art, focus Painting at the University of South Dakota and the Kansas City Art Institute.
Here in California, she has done post graduate work at the Academy of Fine Art in San Francisco.
Blue uses figures from her years of street photography where she has learned strong rule breaking composition that is then altered in color and stroke to bring out the light, texture and form. What the paintings don't show is as important as what they do.
