Kimberly Ann
Artist Statement
I have been creating art since I was a child. One of my first memories was spending hours taking photos, sans film, with my mother's Kodak Brownie. When Digital cameras first came out I upgraded to a Fuji Fine-Pix, while mainly working w/ a Nikon D3200.
Although I have never given up my camera, I am currently focusing on Mixed Media/Collage & other creative pursuits.
I've been showing my work publicly since the mid-2000's and have won several awards. I currently show my work with SCWCA, LELA International, the LA Makery, Opulent Mobility, Highway 2 Artists, & at Spa Pura in Montrose, CA. A few years back 26 of my photos were featured in the Descanso Garden's "Growing Habitat" Exhibition.
My photography is influenced by how I interpret the everyday world, enhanced with color, thus adding a sense of awe and beauty to things we might otherwise ignore or take for granted.
My current art work is a direct result of the many calls for art I apply to. They have forced me to think & create out of my comfort zone which has turned out to be a good thing in as much as my creativity and art processes have greatly expanded.
