Artist Statement

'So often, I find myself composing a painting in my mind based off of a fleeting moment or interesting observance, all while navigating through my daily routines. It’s the artist within, obscure to the public, constantly nudging me to create. However transient these images are, the ideas that do stick become an intense gathering and study of details.

As a contemporary realist, my style of painting is a process, refined and sharpened through layers of paint in multiple hues. Every painting must have at least one challenging aspect in order to strengthen my skills as an artist. In the end, my goal is to capture the viewer’s attention from a distance through color and composition. Should one wander in for a closer look, the rewards are even more exquisite details up close.'
