Artist Statement

Watercolor collection Statement: With trickery, I intend to generate a dialog with a personal reflection on
society's constant state of upheaval. My work in this collection is an expression of irony and humor that
contrasts the violence and politics of our recent history as we had observed. The artwork generates a
necessary dialogue through distorted figures painted in color-saturated composition. Finally, I present
contrasting images where it is possible to find the components of human emotional distress, expressions
of political views, and observations of mementos of social or conflicts that touch on our frustrations and
political history. One that sometimes hurts, and similes intertwine in criticism of the childlike attitudes of
our leaders on the obscureness of my work.
