Artist Statement

To prompt a story from a visual moment.

I ask myself, what prompts me to capture a particular moment; to take the time to find a specific photo artistic point of view? What about my photo presentation is stimulating enough to pause a viewer? How will my image presentation cause a pause at or a return to my image? I want my photographs to prompt sights, sounds and memory derived from my photography.

Each image is individually dramatized when a viewer interprets what I present as what was, what is or what will be. My images inspire a viewer to take the moment further when he or she anticipates while viewing a photograph or after. What proceeded this moment? What is happening outside of the frame? What happens next?

My images prompt a viewer toward feelings like, pleasure, pain, empathy, serenity and perhaps desire. The viewer creates a personal story derived from my image.
