Artist Statement

Believing that life is big and can only be embraced in totality or not at all, the collage format comes naturally to me. It enables multiple layers of meaning and understanding of a subject to co-exist with equal validity. Further, I like the challenge of integrating associated visual treasures into a well-balanced, cohesive unit that is even more eye-catching because of the embedded complexity. My hope is that my art acts as a doorway to an individual's own mental and emotional framework regarding the subject.
