Kyoko Niikuni

Artist Statement

I am an independent artist in the Puget Sound area. I specialized in creations using traditional Japanese Washi paper,still made by hand one sheet at a time, even to this day.

My inspiration comes from the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, where I have lived since 1980. My art features great blue herons, hummingbirds, native Northwest plants, as we all flowers from my own garden, and traditional Japanese Cranes.

I love capturing the natural splendor around me using beautiful Washi paper.
