Artist Statement

I found my passion when I took my first enameling class. I enjoy playing with fire and the unpredictable and endless potential of hot glass fused to metal. I begin with hand-cut or punched copper, brass and steel bases. Next, I enamel layers of glass to the metal using the immersion method. Surface interest is added with custom ceramic decals, frit, silkscreen and hand painting. Once the parts are enameled, I use sawing, soldering, texturizing, layering, wire wrapping and riveting to create colorful, joyful jewelry.
