Artist Statement

My elementary school library rarely had the copies of Huygen's Gnomes and Froud's and Lee's Fairies available because I always had them checked out. I love the idea of fantastical creatures, not only that they exist, but where they may dwell, what they may wear, and the lives they live. In my art, I believe I?m trying to capture that moment in my subjects' lives, when their pasts are forming them and their futures are inspiring them.
