Artist Statement

Storyboard Series
My background in textiles has informed my interest in the surface quality of my paintings. I work with different media, acrylic, oils, collage, and mixed media to produce varied textured surfaces.
In this Storyboard series, I have explored mark-making and texture by incorporating a variety of techniques into a single piece. I am printing with the paint, layering, painting into the printed marks, and overpainting.
My Inspiration is from tree structures, growth, organic forms, and horizons. Figurative forms emerge during the process.
