Woman Made Gallery (WMG) invites women and nonbinary artists to submit work for Adhesive Resistance. This exhibition seeks work that embraces experimentation, cultural commentary, humor, urgency, and the democratic spirit of DIY publishing. It welcomes polished work and beautiful roughness alike—seeking submissions that communicate boldly, challenge convention, and understand that small, reproducible objects can carry powerful ideas into the world.
This show is open to all printed matter, stickers, zines, pins, buttons, etc. Sticker designs can be submitted as individual designs or sheets. This virtual exhibition will be hosted on the Woman Made Gallery website and promoted across our social media.
Local/Chicagoland artists selected for the virtual exhibition will also be invited to participate in an optional in-person pop-up print fair at Woman Made Gallery, featuring artist-delivered stickers, zines, prints, and other small-format multiples. Participation in the pop-up is optional and will not affect selection for the virtual exhibition.
In addition to the virtual exhibition hosted on the Woman Made Gallery website, accepted artists local to the Chicagoland area will have the opportunity to propose workshops and/or demos for consideration. Accepted proposals will occur as in-gallery programming in conjunction with the virtual exhibition. These will be paid opportunities if accepted.
Submitted work must be original, created by the artist, and produced without the primary use of AI image-generation tools.
About the Juror
Courtney Nzeribe is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist, writer, and arts advocate whose practice spans fiber, painting, printmaking, collage, and mixed media. Her work explores diasporic memory, spirituality, feminine autonomy, resilience, and the ways ordinary materials can carry personal and collective histories.
She studied art and design at Parsons at the American University in Paris, and her writing has appeared in Gastronomica and other literary and cultural publications. Her artwork has been exhibited at Woman Made Gallery, Bridgeport Art Center, the Old State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois, and other regional venues.
Courtney serves on the board of Woman Made Gallery, where she supports communications, artist engagement, and exhibition programming. Her experience as an exhibiting artist and juror informs an approach grounded in curiosity, accessibility, and respect for each artist’s individual voice.
