Material Matters is a international juried exhibition that explores the concept of experimentation within diverse materials/mediums as platforms for dialogue and critique surrounding culture and society. Materials and concepts used and addressed are open to the artist’s interpretation.

Juried exhibitions at WoCA Projects meet the spaces mission of diversifying contemporary art through cross-cultural and conceptually diverse exhibitions, featuring both women and men artists whose work speaks to similar conceptual ideas.

About Juror:
Erin Cluley is the owner and director of Erin Cluley Gallery in Dallas, Texas, a contemporary art gallery exhibiting emerging and mid-career artists from Dallas and the United States. Erin served as the Director of Exhibitions at Dallas Contemporary from 2009 - 2014 where she worked on the production of exhibitions by Zoe Crosher, Gabriel Dawe, K8 Hardy, Georg Herold, Aaron Parazette, Richard Phillips, John Pomara, Rob Pruitt, Jennifer Rubell, Julian Schnabel, Juergen Teller, Walter Van Beirendonck, Inez & Vinoodh, Erwin Wurm and others. Erin Cluley also worked with artists and their crews producing murals by Shepard Fairey, Soner, JMR, Sourgrapes, Faile, Michael Sieben and JR.
Award:
Artist selected as “Best in Show” will be awarded a solo exhibition in WoCA Projects gallery during the 2015-2016 exhibition rotation.
Deadline for submissions is Sunday, October 12th at 11:59 p.m., and the Exhibition will run from October 31-December 6, 2014. Opening Reception is October 31st from 6-8:30 p.m.
