Bodies and Borders: Ecologies of Consent

FAQ on filling out this form:

1- An ENTRANT is you, the artist.
You will have one ENTRY to this exhibit. (which may include one, two or three pieces)

2- A PIECE is one artwork. You may submit three artworks (piece A, piece B, and piece C).

3- DETAIL VIEWS: Each artwork may include up to three detail views. Additional views means detail shots or alternate views for that particular entry, ie, Piece A might have detail shots.

These may help the juror, but detail images MIGHT NOT be published in the exhibit (might be used in catalog) Alternate views of 3D works may be chosen.

4- IMAGE SIZE:
MAXIMUM size 5 MB
MINIMUM size 1 MB. (1000kb)

MINIMUM width: 500PX
BEST width: about 1900 PX
MAXIMUM width: 5000 x 5000

FORMATS: .JPG .PNG

LABEL slides:
(Family/last name)_(Firstname)_(Title or keyword for this slide).jpg
ie: Pindell_Deanna_Joyful.jpg

5- For COMPLEX PROJECTS, installations, land art, community projects, etc: You may choose to submit different views of the project as an entire separate Piece rather than as a detail. For example, Piece A might be an overall of the finished project and Piece B might include community work in progress. We might or might not publish a second view in the gallery but might include it in the catalog. TBD with each juror.

ASK us if you want to submit a composite images with views of the same project composed together. Artistic quality will take preference.

6. VIDEO:
Please submit a still image as a placeholder.
Include a LINK to the video in the PIECE DESCRIPTION textbox.

The Aspect Ratio of the still image needs to be EXACTLY the same size as the video. In other words, the same number of pixels in height and width.

We are only able to show a limited size. We will download a copy at the correct resolution. BEST size should not exceed 1024x780px (max is 1920x1080px).

Files must be less than 128 MB.
Allowed file types: mp4.
We prefer Vimeo but can also show Youtube.

We will be able to show the full video in the gallery. Check your settings (in vimeo, youtube, etc) to make sure we will be able to view the video.

Please remove video passwords for the the duration of the exhibit.

7- PHYSICAL GALLERY in Georgia:
There are two categories. Select either ONLINE ONLY, or PHYSICAL GALLERY AND ONLINE.

Artists will be responsible for all shipping and pre-paid return shipping, their own insurance and other expenses. Artists will receive a contract with specific instructions.

STATEMENTS:
1- STATEMENT SPECIFIC TO ENTRY - 530 characters: This is your artist's statement FOR THIS SHOW. How does your artwork express this theme? This statement will be used in the catalogue.

A statement interpreting your work is important since WEAD serves an educational mission.

2- PIECE DESCRIPTION - 400 characters: A brief comment about the specific piece. This will show along with the medium, dimensions, etc.

WEAD (Women Eco Artists Dialog) requires that you be a paid WEAD member ($45 annual fee) in order to be eligible to be juried. Payment is due by July 1st.
