Kiln God awards are competitive, juried and merit-based. All artists are eligible to apply regardless of age, experience, or media/discipline. Awards are allocated to emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Kiln God awards are for the summer residency sessions only. Full or partial funding is awarded by an annual review committee of ceramics professionals. The funding covers residency fee-related items: double cabin housing, meals, and studio. These are not cash awards. Residents who are part of an Artists-Invite-Artists group are eligible for Kiln God Scholarships up to $500. Award recipients are responsible for housing upgrades, travel expenses, materials, firings, and packing/shipping of work.
Kiln God recipients are not eligible for funding again for three summers following their award and may only be funded a total of two times.
