This is a non-thematic exhibition of new works, finished within the last two years.
Three-dimensional, free-standing sculpture, wall-hung and ceiling-hung sculpture, and installations as well as multimedia and performance-based works are welcome. Basic technical support will be provided by Harmony Hall Arts Center (HHAC). The artist must provide any video and sound equipment. The art may be finished or in the form of a proposal. We highly recommend that artists visit the space if they wish to submit installations, site-specific work, or a proposal.
Rooney Prize: an honorarium of $500 by WSG will be given to an artist/artist team selected by the juror whose work reflects the best qualities for the overall WSG Sculpture NOW 2026 show.
Artist Honoraria: There is a $100 per artist honorarium. In order to receive the honorarium, each artist must be a vendor registered with the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Accepted artists will be given instructions on how to become a vendor if they are not already one.
Applicants must make submissions through EntryThingy (www.entrythingy.com). Sculpture NOW 2026 will be juried from digital images submitted through the EntryThingy site and there is a $5 processing fee for each entry. No entries will be accepted by mail or email.
ABOUT THE JUROR
Beth Bright is is a collections management professional with over 15 years of experience supporting exhibitions and stewarding museum collections. Since 2022, she has served as Museum Registrar at the American University Museum, where she collaborates with artists and curators to bring exhibitions to the public. Previously, she was Director of the Archive and Research Center at the Chevy Chase Historical Society in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Curator of Books and Manuscripts at the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in New York. She has also served as a panelist for the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities. Beth holds a master’s degree in Museum Studies from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Virginia.

ELIGIBILITY
The exhibition is open to members of the Washington Sculptors Group only. Artists who are not already members may join WSG by paying annual dues of $45 ($15 for full-time students). Prospective members may download a membership form from the WSG website (https://washingtonsculptors.org/wsg-membership-benefits/), and send checks, along with the membership form, to the WSG address, or may join online through PayPal on the WSG website. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
-- Individual artists or teams may submit three-dimensional freestanding sculpture, wall- and ceiling-hung sculpture, installations, as well as new media and performance-based works. Artists not familiar with the space may wish to arrange a visit before submitting.
-- All submissions must be made through EntryThingy. No other forms of application will be accepted.
-- Artists may submit an application individually and as part of a team. Artists or teams may submit up to three (3) works or proposals, with up to four images per work (maximum of 12 images). Not all work has to be for sale.
-- Submissions MUST be anonymous. All identifying labels from titles, file names, images, etc. must be removed. Submissions that are not anonymous will be disqualified.
-- Accepted work must be delivered to HHAC in person on Thursday, July 23 (10am - 8 pm). HHAC will not receive shipments of artwork. Artists are responsible for assuring their work is picked up on the pick-up date. All work accepted and exhibited must remain on display for the full duration of the show, even if it has been sold.
-- Entries may include images of finished works or written proposals by an individual or an art team. Each written proposal is treated as one piece. We highly recommend that artists visit the space if they wish to submit installations, site-specific work, or a proposal.
-- All sculptures must fit through the front entrance 78” high x 35” wide doorway. Wall hung artwork may weigh no more than 40 lbs. Work to be hung from the ceiling must weigh no more than 20 lbs. All work will be exhibited indoors.
-- All applicants will receive ‘accepted’ or ‘not accepted’ notifications via email.
-- Harmony Hall Arts Center (HHAC) staff will install the exhibit. HHAC reserves the right to reject any work that is not suitably presented at delivery.
-- HHAC serves a wide public, including children and families; so it may reject work that is not suitable for display in such a setting. HHAC reserves the right to photograph works for archival and publicity purposes
