Twelve: Closer Encounters

Organization: Viewpoint Photographic Art Center Location Sacramento, California Entry Fee Paid Entry Deadline October 17, 2021 Exhibition Dec 8 - Dec 31, 2021
OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES
Closer Encounters is the theme of Viewpoint's 13th annual open juried show, TWELVE. Over the last two years, society has taken precautions of social distancing and established six feet of separation as offering some greater measure of safety during the pandemic. We have changed handshakes to elbow bumps and nods have replaced hugs. Lines and shoe silhouettes on the floor in public places indicate the appropriate spacing while waiting room chairs hold signs forbidding their use. As a symbol of our emergence from the darkest days of the Covid 19 battle, Closer Encounters invites photographers to enter images taken within six feet of their chosen subject. This closer view could be still lifes, portraits, underwater visions, macro photographs, abstractions, details of flowers or walls, and more. Subjects and photographic techniques are unlimited. However, the vantage point should be six feet or closer to the primary subject. Viewpoint welcomes your concepts, creativity and craftsmanship in interpreting Closer Encounters. We hope you accept the challenge.
