Thirdplat is an independent online platform for artistic and cultural expression. It connects creators and audiences through monthly themed open calls, public online exhibitions and a growing archive of contemporary creative work.

We welcome moving image, photography, writing, craft, sound, performance and cross-disciplinary practices. Each monthly theme provides a shared point of departure while allowing artists to respond through their own experiences, cultures and methods. Published works can be discovered alongside other interpretations of the same subject, creating conversations between different media and perspectives.

Thirdplat is not a conventional competition or juried exhibition. We treat submission as publication rather than audition. Original and respectful work is published directly on the platform, subject to our content guidelines, and becomes part of the relevant monthly exhibition and archive. Artists receive a public space for their work, a profile that can develop into an ongoing record of their practice and a direct link that can be shared with audiences.

Our October 2026 Open Call is titled SOMETHING NEW.

The theme is not simply a celebration of novelty, but an inquiry into impact: when something new enters our lives, what does it change?

In an era where change outpaces language, from pandemics shifting human distance and displacement turning home into a portable memory, to climate change rewriting landscapes and artificial intelligence redefining authorship, we invite creators to reflect on one new presence in their life, community or practice and the trace it has left behind.

The “new” may be a place, relationship, technology, loss, habit, identity or unfamiliar way of seeing. Responses may be personal, social, documentary, fictional or experimental.

Creators from around the world are invited to show us what entered their world, what it changed and what it left behind.
