The Breath and The Clay, Winston Salem, North Carolina, announces the 2025 The Breath and The Clay Conference Exhibition. All media are eligible, including but not limited to: painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, drawing, fiber, installation, and sculpture. Video and sound work will require the artist to send/bring their own equipment for display. Work that includes sound will be displayed at a volume appropriate for the gallery, as decided by The Breath and The Clay staff. There are no size restrictions for this exhibition. This exhibition will be held physically and will also be represented as an online gallery at www.thebreathandtheclay.com
Deadline for entries: Sunday, February 16, 2025 by 7 PM.

About the juror:
Craig Hawkins serves as Professor of Art/Drawing, Painting, and Foundations at VSU. He earned his B.F.A. from Valdosta State University. While at VSU, he spent a semester studying in Newcastle, England. He continued his studies at the University of Georgia, Lamar Dodd School of Art, where he earned an M.F.A in Drawing and Painting.
Craig has exhibited and published his work both nationally and internationally, and has participated in numerous group, solo, juried, and curated exhibitions across the nation and overseas including the national juried exhibition 2023 Contemporary Art Survey at the Lincoln Center in Colorado, Emmaus Road by Craig Hawkins, a solo show at Square Halo Gallery in Pennsylvania, Craig Hawkins, a solo show at the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Art in Florida, inclusion in New American Paintings, No. 160, South, inclusion in Juxtapoz Magazine n132 along with published work in Every Moment Holy Volume III by Douglas Kaine McKelvey, Rabbit Room Press, 2023, and Intruding Upon the Timeless: Meditations of Art, Faith, and Mystery by Gregory Wolfe, Square Halo Books, 2018. Mason Fine Art Gallery, Atlanta, GA has represented his work since 2007 and Anne Neilson Fine Art, Charlotte, NC represented his work from 2014 ? 2021.
Fee: $25 per artist for up to three (3) works of art.
Number of Pieces: Artists may submit up to 3 pieces (in JPEG format) for consideration.
PLEASE NOTE: All artwork must be an original of the submitting artist, and should have been completed in the last 2 years. Artwork must not have been exhibited previously at The Breath and The Clay.
After you complete the entry and submit the required fee, your entry status may appear as 'NOT SUBMITTED' for up to 3 business days pending staff review. Your entry status will then be 'SHOW TO JURY.'
Prior to this status change, please refer to the PayPal notification sent via email to confirm receipt of payment.
Accepted Entrants: Accepted works should arrive at Awake Church ready to hang or install by Friday, March 14. Works arriving after the 14th will not be admitted into the exhibition.
