City Gallery Art Stroll 2021

Organization: The Art Center Highland Park Location Various Locations around Highland Park, IL Entry Fee Paid Entry Deadline January 26, 2021 Exhibition Feb 12 - Apr 2, 2021
The Art Center Highland Park and Art Makers North combine efforts to create a unique exhibit , 'What the World Needs Now . . .'

The answer, of course, is twofold: Love AND Art!

As we enter a new year there is love and optimism in the air.

This 'pop up' scheduled for February is a positive step to countermand the difficulties of exhibiting art during a pandemic and provides a safe activity for those who have been homebound. The interpretation of the theme 'Love' will be loosely interpreted.

TAC and AMN will coordinate with local storefronts (mostly the empty storefronts though stores in operation are welcome) to create an art stroll in different neighborhoods of beautiful Highland Park. Our goal is to make art accessible to all, showcasing artists while providing a COVID-19 safe way for artists to display their work to community members and visitors from the entire Chicagoland area to see, experience, and hopefully purchase, original works of art.

Once one to three entries are accepted by the jury. TAC will play 'matchmaker' between the accepted artists and the available window spaces. Artists will be given building manager's information and will arrange directly with them when they can install art per city codes (directions provided with notifications.) Help with installation is available with a small fee. Artwork can be shipped to TAC and postage return boxes should be included.

All 2D and 3D media are acceptable. Large, bold and colorful work is encouraged. Maps will be created for the public to have access to the work and prizes will be awarded. This is a public space exhibit so please consider the audience.

Areas to be covered (as of this printing) include the Central/Downtown business district and Ravinia Business Districts.
