Artists are invited to submit entries for a new exhibit at Tall Grass Gallery, MULTI-PLICITY.
CONSIDER:
>> Works that exist as multiple frames, panels, elements, or parts that are read as
one whole a sequence or continuum, a progression or repetition, or a collection of variations.
* Any size, medium, technique, subject matter
> Could be one surface divided into grids, compartments, linear sections, or
dimensional forms that suggest movement, completion, or some form of relationship.
> Could be two or more separate frames, panels, or elements that are intended to be shown together, as a pair, diptych, triptych, etc. in a sequential series (before and after, step by step, time passages), or as a group or pattern of similar statements, views, subjects, etc. The collection of multiple parts that come together to form the single whole might number anywhere from 2> 50 or more . . . .
> This theme might lend itself to a whole range of media: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, digital, sculpture, fibers, glass, ceramics, metal, collage, assemblage, installation, books, puzzles, Legos, cartoons, etc.
> Various traditional criteria will be considered in choosing works for the show - compositional elements, use of media, technical skill, etc. as well as each artist's unique vision and choices made, and the impact and lasting impression of the piece.
