Growl, Howl, Moo, Baa, Roar

GUIDELINES:

Consider: detailed portrayals of nature that represent all its complex variety and beauty, as well as amusing takes on animals such as those in children & books or cartoons; or illustrations from scientific studies in zoology, biology, etc., or imagined worlds of dragons or dinosaurs or creatures of the future . . . the whole range of real and invented animal life can be fair subject matter.

> Artists are encouraged to share works that are positive, joyful, informative, or inspiring in us an awareness of so much that is amazing, beautiful, different or mysterious in our world.

> Works might take the forms of drawings, paintings, photographs, prints, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fibers, glass, books, or installations.

> All sizes, media (except video), styles, and formats will be accepted for consideration.
(Giclee prints of photographs or digital pieces are acceptable; giclee prints of pastels,
watercolors, acrylics, oils and other non-digital media should not be submitted.)

> Artists may submit up to 5 works for judging.
> Shipped work will be accepted. Artists are required to supply
pre-paid return shipping labels with accepted work.

RULES:

> Works should not have been shown at Tall Grass Gallery in the last 2 years.

> 2-dimensional work must be wired securely, and ready to hang; no sawtooth hangers please. Wires should not show above the top of the frame when hung.
> All 2D and 3D works that require special installation procedures must be installed
by the artists themselves.

> Curators reserve the right to refuse work that does not meet the requirements
or is considered too fragile or too heavy for installation.
> All work remains on exhibit for the duration of the show.
> Unless requested otherwise by the artist, permission is given to Tall Grass to use any images of exhibited work for publicity or educational purposes.

> A non-refundable entry fee of $25 for up to 5 entries must accompany
the entry form at the time of submission.
> The gallery retains a 30% commission from any sales of work during the exhibit.
> Work may be marked NFS.

AWARDS:

> Awards will be given for First, Second and Third Place, and for Honorable Mentions.
> Curators and Jurors for the exhibit are Claudia Craemer, artist, juror and curator for numerous regional solo and group exhibits, and Debbie Craemer, Tall Grass Gallery Committee member and curator and juror for several Tall Grass exhibits.

DATES:

- Exhibit dates: November 7, 2020 – January 9, 2021
- Deadline for entries: Saturday, August 29, 2020
- Email Notification of acceptance: September 12, 2020
- Delivery of accepted entries: October 25, 26, 27, (28), 2020
- Final day of exhibit on view: January 9, 2021
- Dates for pick-up of exhibited work: January 10, 11,12, 2021

SOME IMPORTANT NOTES ON THIS SHOW:
* The exhibit dates for Growl, Howl, Moo, Baa, Roar are longer than usual – November 7, 2020 through January 9, 2021.
* It will run as a complete exhibit through the first month or so, then we will add various 3D or gift-type items to the gallery space to also be available for our visitors during the Holiday season.

* During the run of the Growl, Howl show, artists who are accepted for it are invited to also share any items that are related to the works they have in the exhibit that are smaller or lesser-priced. We will display these in the gallery on sale tables. They might include prints, cards, books, games, calendars, animal-themed clothing, masks, plates, mugs, toys, etc.
