About This Exhibition
Strathmore welcomes artists to submit original artwork for Strathmore's 32nd Annual Juried Exhibition: Prism: Connections in Color.
Color is an artistic tool that also impacts daily life in many facets. Colors influence our psychology as we shop, eat, or rest. They coordinate or compete in the lifestyle marketplace. Colors reflect mood, energy, status, and period. We date artifacts by available pigments, define seasons by hue and assign success or prestige in bronze, silver, and gold. Artists develop depth, sharpen contrast, and express ideas in faint or bold palettes. Whether in combination or in reduction, this call asks artists to develop art that conveys or examines subject matter or meaning through color theory open to fluorescent, monochromatic, neutral, metallic, and everything in between or beyond.
Artists from within the DMV region and beyond are encouraged to apply.
Jurors
Glen Kessler and Zoma Wallace
Submissions will be evaluated on aesthetic value, mastery of craft, and relevance to the exhibition theme. Each artwork will be considered individually. There is no limit to how many works from one artist's entry may be accepted.
Awards
Cash prizes will be awarded to Best in Show, Second Prize, and Third Prize at the opening reception. Honorable Mentions will also be recognized.

All accepted video works will be displayed on an 11.5” monitor. Maximum size for 2D work is 56” by 48” framed. Maximum size for 3D work is 48” by 48” by 48”.
