This is an open call for the juried exhibit "FINS, FEATHERS, and FUR" from the St. Charles Arts Council, to be held at SCAC Gallery located at 121 2nd Street, St. Charles, Il, 60174 in historic downtown St. Charles, IL. All mediums are accepted, 3d encouraged.
Meet the Judge: We are thrilled to announce that Chris Hughes will serve as the judge for this exhibition. Chris has earned recognition and awards in competitions in Texas and Illinois. He is a member and on the board of the Naperville Art League and the DuPage Art League and teaches at both leagues. He is part of a weekly art critique group as the co-leader in organizing and sending out newsletters. He is also a member of Oil Painters of America.
FINS, FEATHERS, and FUR: Textures of the Living World
Beyond the surface of animal portraiture lies a rich world of pattern, rhythm, and tactile wonder. Fins, Feathers, & Fur invites artists to explore the incredible diversity of the animal kingdom through the lens of organic texture. We are seeking artwork that investigates the physical and visual surfaces of nature. Submissions can be literal representations, or abstract explorations.
All mediums are accepted, 3d encouraged.
Entry fees: $35 Non-Members & $20 SCAC Members choose from drop-down menu for tiered pricing.
Art Drop Off Monday, October 26th 2pm - 6pm
Art Pick UP Monday, December 21st 2pm - 6pm
Eligibility Requirements:
Artwork previously displayed in any SCAC exhibits or shows are NOT eligible.
Artwork must be original and created within the last 5 years.
You must be able to attend pickup and drop off dates as scheduled.
Submission Requirements:
All artwork must be for sale
You may submit up to 2 PIECES of artwork per Entry Fee
Provide Title, Medium, Dimensions, Price.
All forms of media accepted.
All artwork must be wired to hang – no sawtooth hangers.
All Artwork MUST BE FOR SALE. Artists will receive 60% of sale price, St. Charles Arts Council will retain 40%. (Entry-Thingy has NFS in dropdown but please DO NOT select)

Awards will be given at the opening reception Friday, 30th 5-7pm.

2nd Place: $75
3rd Place: $50
Honorable Mentions - as determined by the judge
