BEST OF SOMA JURIED EXHIBITION
PROSPECTUS
Show off your best work at the 'Best of SOMA' Juried Exhibition as SOMAC kicks off the SOMANIA Open House event on March 29 at a special exhibition at Triptych Cafe at 1155 Folsom Street in SOMA.
CATEGORIES ACCEPTED
Painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, and fiber art.
This exhibition cannot accept sculpture, book art, jewelry, video, film, performance art, installation and works requiring an external electrical source.

JUROR: Heather Holt Villyard
As the Executive Director of Artspan, Heather Holt Villyard oversees all aspects of ArtSpan's operations and SF Open Studios. Previously, she worked at SFMOMA managing the SECA membership auxiliary and special museum events. Heather currently serves as the Chair of the SECA 50th Anniversary on the SECA Council at SFMOMA and was formerly the Chair of the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery Advisory Board. http://www.artspan.org

A Juror's Award ribbon and certificate will be presented to five works that demonstrate excellence and a mastery of media.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
Works must be submitted online before midnight (in your time zone)on February 4, 2013 to be considered by juror. One piece per artist may be submitted. Please go to Arc Call for Submissions at http://www.arc-sf.com/best-of-soma.html.
ELIGIBILITY
Artist members of South of Market Coalition (SOMAC). 2013 dues must be paid before February 1st.
ARTWORK MAXIMUM SIZE
2-Dimensional Work: Height 4 feet, Width 3 feet - including frame
ARTWORK PRESENTATION
Artwork must arrive 'ready to hang'with wire and be presented professionally. Framed artwork must use black wood or natural wood frame. Artwork that is not ready to hang may not be included.
IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS
Submit JPG image sized approximately 4 inches wide x 6 inches high at 300 dpi resolution. In order to upload successfully, your image must be at least 1200 pixels wide. The maximum uploadable file size is 8 megabytes. A high-resolution image is requested for printed publicity of accepted works. Works displayed on-line will be reduced to web-standard low resolution by SOMAC. The image must be submitted in RGB color mode. You will NOT be able to upload an image in CMYK. Your JPG file name must be Artist's Last Name, under-score, and Title. Example: Smith_ScratchMarks2.JPG
NO ENTRY FEE
There is no entry fee for 2013 SOMAC members.
NOTIFICATION TO ARTISTS
Artists will be notified by February 18, 2013. All artists who have submitted artwork will be notified by email. You will receive notification even if no artwork has been selected. If you do not receive notice by February 18th, please check your email spam folder and contact us if you do not hear from SOMAC.
HAND-DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
Wednesday, March 13th 2-5PM & Thursday, March 14th, 2-5PM, 2013.
INSURANCE & LIABILITY
Artwork is not insured while on the premises of Triptych Cafe.
PICK-UP OF ARTWORK
Friday, June 14th, 2-5PM. Artwork left behind may be subject to a late fee of $50 per day and/or discarded.
SALES OF ART
All sales of artwork will be handled by the artists. Clients will contact the artists to make a purchase. a 15% commission should be paid to Triptych for all works sold. Items sold must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show.
