Organization: Site Seen Location Brooklyn, NY Entry Fee Paid Entry Deadline March 20, 2026
A Site Seen Exhibition
May 2, 2026 | 6–9 PM
Brooklyn, NY

Site Seen Arts, an artist-run nonprofit organization, invites submissions for Of Grit and Grid, a one-night activation exploring structure, ownership, and resistance.

Brooklyn runs on scaffolds and stubbornness. On mapped streets and unmapped stories. On brick, beam, steel, body. This exhibition considers the grid not only as infrastructure, but as ideology.

We are seeking work that engages:

• Urban structure and psychological structure
• Systems, mapping, repetition, containment
• Property, ownership, valuation, boundary
• Labor, materiality, friction, resilience
• Industrial or reclaimed materials
• Order interrupted

We are particularly interested in work that interrogates the grid as both structure and ideology.

All media welcome. Preference will be given to installation and three dimensional work.

We strongly encourage proposals that are spatially aware, materially bold, and responsive to site.

The exhibition will occupy a former ground floor real estate office in Brooklyn, temporarily repurposed as an art space. The existing layout, finishes, and spatial logic will remain active considerations. The space retains traces of its prior function, inviting artists to engage with its architectural logic rather than erase it.
