The Woman's Perspective - A Member Only Exhibit

The Woman's Perspective, at the Long Beach Creative Group, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Southern California Women's Caucus for Art (SCWCA). This thought-provoking exhibition delves into the world through the eyes of women showcasing their experiences, emotions, and narratives across various mediums. Featuring works by diverse female artists, The Woman's Perspective highlights themes of identity, resilience, empowerment, and the everyday realities of womanhood. By presenting stories that are often overlooked or underrepresented The Woman's Perspective invites viewers to engage with art that challenges perceptions, sparks conversation, and celebrates the multifaceted nature of the female experience. Through art, this exhibition creates a space where women?s voices are amplified, their perspectives honored, and their creativity embraced.

Exhibit Location - Long Beach Creative Group (LBCG), 2221 East Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90803. Street parking only.

ARTWORK FORMAT, PRESENTATION & REQUIREMENTS: EVERY SCWCA MEMBER WILL HAVE AT LEAST ONE PIECE IN THIS EXHIBITION. Artwork submissions are limited to THREE original artworks per artist as JPEGs. Name JPEG files: Artist last name and title. Example: Smith_funhouse.jpg. Do not use double quotation marks, colons or semicolons in names. Please capitalize your First, Last name, Title of work, and Medium. No video, installation, or performance works accepted. At this time, LBCG is NOT accepting work produced or significantly altered by AI in their gallery space.

Submit JPEGs sized at 300 DPI RESOLUTION OR NO LESS THAN 1MB AND NO LARGER THAN 5MB. MAXIMUM SIZE IN EITHER DIRECTION 2500 PIXELS (THIS IS ROUGHLY 8 INCHES). Images should be cropped to remove background and/or frame.

MAXIMUM SIZE: All 2D and 3D art must be no larger than 36 inches x 36 inches including frame. Artists may be asked to provide their own pedestal for three-dimensional work, painted white and clean.

ENTRIES & FEES: $40 for SCWCA members, maximum three pieces of art. Payment is made through entrythingy via credit card. Fees are non-refundable. Artists may join SCWCA at www.nationalwca.org to join and be sure to select CAS as the chapter.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA AND CONTENT: Work exhibited in previous SCWCA shows are not eligible. Entries must be original and executed by the artist. Once submitted, artwork may not be substituted or withdrawn by the artist. All artwork must remain at LBCG until the end of the exhibit. Paintings on canvas do not need frames, but the edges should be clean. Works on paper are generally framed. Work must be neatly and professionally presented. If work is brought in that is not professionally presented, it will not be included in the show.

READY TO HANG: All 2D work must have proper weight picture wire and/or D-rings. Saw-toothed hangers are not acceptable. All hanging artwork must have wire and hanging hardware suitable for the size and weight of the piece(s). All hanging art MUST be prepared to hang. We reserve the right not to hang artwork prepared in a way that risks being damaged during installation (too much weight, fragility or not prepared to hang).

SALES and INSURANCE: All art MUST be for sale. All sales will be handled by the gallery. 65% to artists, 35% to the gallery. No insurance is provided. Artists are advised to insure their artwork.

SCWCA and Long Beach Creative Group are not liable for artwork left at the gallery.

EXHIBIT LOCATION: Long Beach Creative Group (LBCG), 2221 East Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90803. Street parking only.

GALLERY HOURS: Friday - Sunday: 1-4 p.m. Closed Holidays

PUBLICITY: SCWCA and Long Beach Creative Group may use images of accepted artwork for publicity purposes. Artists agree to allow reproduction of their digital files and/or photographs taken of their art for educational, publicity and archival purposes.
