ARTIST STATEMENT ('Statement specific to entry')
Write a statement for your body of work represented in XX-Factor in 530 characters or less.

DESCRIPTION FOR EACH ENTRY ('Description')
Provide one statement in 260 characters pr lessfor the piece you are submitting and its relevance to the concept of The XX Factor; What does having the XX-human chromosome mean to you? Adding the X-Factor brings unexpected change.
Limited to 530 characters only. This statement will go with your work in the exhibition catalog, please edit it carefully.

DIMENSIONS
Size including framed 60 x 60 inches for flat art; 30 x 30 x36' for 3D

Provide dimension of each piece as follows: Height x Width, including frame size.
If taller than 60 inches, you must provide a stand-alone hanging system.

NAMING YOUR JPG FILES
Your JPG file must be :
Artist's Last Name + Title.
Example: Smith_funhouse2

COLOR PROFILE FOR YOUR JPGS
All images must be submitted in RGB color mode. You will NOT be able to upload images in CMYK.

HIGH RESOLUTION JPGS
Submit JPG images sized approximately 4 inches wide x 6 inches long at 300 dpi resolution. In order to upload successfully, your image must be at least 1200 pixels wide.

High resolution images are requested for print publicity of accepted works. Any works displayed online will be reduced to web-standard low resolution by WCA.

If you have 3-D work, you may submit more than one view of each piece by:
- submitting one image that combines multiple views, or
- submit up to three different views of your work.
Each view counts as a submission so remember to identify multiple views of an entry in your description of work.

SALES OF ART
All sales of art are individual opportunities. SBAWCA nor the MLK Library does not engage in sales.
If any items sell during the exhibition, all pieces must remain in place for the duration of the show and may be picked up by purchasers after the close of the show.

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK

Artists are responsible for all shipping expenses of their work to and from the gallery.

WCA and the MLK Gallery are not responsible for damage caused in transit.

Accepted works must arrive ready to install or hang. Artists must submit descriptions of wall-hung artworks with alternative hanging methods, showing in detail how these pieces will hang. All framed artworks must be firmly wired for hanging with no clip frames or saw-tooth hangers. Work without an appropriate hanging apparatus will be disqualified. WCA will install.

Artwork will be examined by WCA and their condition will be noted. Works that differ significantly from entry images, suffer substandard presentation or are replicas of the original artwork will be disqualified. Entries that do not comply with the rules will be disqualified.

PICK UP OF ARTWORK
9:30-11:30AM Friday February 28, 2014

INSURANCE & LIABILITY
All exhibited works must be self-insured by the artist.

AGREEMENT & RELEASE
By submitting this application the Artist confirms he or she has read and agree to the conditions set forth in this prospectus for XX-Factor.

Permission is granted to WCA and the MLK Gallery to use images of artwork accepted into the exhibition for publicity purposes. One or more artworks may be chosen for the cover design of invitation for the exhibition. They also may be featured on www.nationalwca.org or www.sbawca.org.
Artists agree to allow reproduction of their digital files and/or photographs taken of their art for educational, publicity, and archival purposes.

The Artist hereby releases and discharges representatives, employees and volunteers of National Women's Caucus for Art and SJSU Martin Luther King Library from any and all claims occasioned by loss or damages of said work while in the possession of SJSU Martin Luther King Library.
