7th Annual Members Juried Exhibition

Important Special Instructions for Entering
When working on your online entry, do not click 'Submit This Entry' until you have uploaded all of the images you plan to submit. Before adding images to your entry, you will read this Entry Instructions page, and then fill in the General Entry Form. Next you will be able to uplaod your images on the Add Image page. Upload your first image with all of the required information such as title, size, etc. Once you see it has uploaded, click the Add Image button again to add your next image. Do not click 'Submit This Entry' to add another image. You may add up to three images, plus three detail images. Once you have uploaded all of your images click the 'Submit This Entry' button to pay for your entry.

Eligibility and Media
This competition is open to artists who are Members in good standing of the Saratoga Clay Arts Center, 18 years or older. Artwork must be composed of at least 75% clay and may be functional or sculptural. All entries must be original and executed by the artist within the past two years. Works may not have been previously shown at the Schacht Gallery.

Size and Installation Limitations
Any artwork too fragile for public display should not be entered. Wall-mounted work must be ready for hanging, including segmented work. All entered artworks may not exceed 100 pounds in total, nor measure more than 60 inches in any direction.

Image Submission
Images need to be in jpg (jpeg) format. Please label each image file with the title of your artwork as listed on the entry form. Two images are allowed per artwork entered, a full view and a detail view. Add the word detail to the title of your artwork for any detail images submitted. Artwork titles may be shortened as needed on your image files. Do not use spaces nor any punctuation marks, such as dashes, underscores and slash marks, when labeling image files.

After uplaoding your images click please double check how your entry will look by clicking on 'see jury view' on the right side of the page. Here you will see entry #'s next to your artwork titles. It is recommended that you record these #'s and put them on your copy of the completed entry form which you may print at the end of the entry process when you make your payment.

Entry Fee
The non-refundable entry fee is $35 for up to five artworks.

Juror - This year's juror will be PETER PINCUS. This year's juror will be PETER PINCUS.Born in Rochester, NY, Peter Pincus is a ceramic artist and instructor. He joined the School for American Crafts as Visiting Assistant Professor in Ceramics in Fall 2014. Peter received his BFA (2005) and MFA (2011) in ceramics from Alfred University, and in between was a resident artist at the Mendocino Art Center in Mendocino,California. Since graduate school, Peter worked as the Studio Manager and Resident Artist Coordinator of the Genesee Center for Arts and Education in Rochester, NY, Adjunct Professor of three dimensional studies at Roberts Wesleyan College and has established a studio in Penfield NY.

His work has been exhibited in venues such as the Salon Art + Design, SOFA Chicago, Collective Design, Lewis Wexler Gallery, Duane Reed Gallery, Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art, Ferrin Contemporary, Greenwich House Pottery, and National Council on Education for the Ceramic Art. Peter's work can be found in numerous private and public collections.

Sales
The Saratoga Clay Arts Center will retain a 40% commission on sales. All artwork must be available for sale. Sold artwork may not be removed from the gallery until the end of the exhibition.

Insurance/Shipping
Artworks accepted into the exhibition will be insured by the Saratoga Clay Arts Center for 30% less than the selling price or the NFS value, from the time they are received at the gallery to the time they are return shipped. Shipping and insurance while in transit to and from the gallery are the responsibility of the artist. A pre-paid return shipping label or postage must be included with accepted artworks.
