Language Arts - The Power of Language in Visual Art

Submission Requirements:
The artwork must incorporate text in some form.
The artwork must be an original work by the submitting artist.
Artists may submit up to three pieces of artwork.
The artwork must be submitted in digital format. (JPG or PNG, 300dpi)
The deadline for submission is June 3, 2023.
Selected artists must be able to drop off artwork in-person at our gallery location in Oakland, CA on scheduled drop off dates.

Selection Process:
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by Rock Paper Scissors Collective Gallery. Selected artists will be notified by email by June 30, 2023.

Exhibition Details:
The exhibition will be held from August 4, 2023 to September 16, 2023, at Rock Paper Scissors Collective Gallery.
There will be an opening reception on August 4, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Delivery of Accepted Work:
All selected artists must be available to deliver their artwork to the gallery by July 28, 2023 during our open hours, and to pick up their artwork on September 30, 2023.
Artists are responsible for framing costs. All work must be ready to install. Wall-hung artwork must be securely wired. Please include clear directions and proper hardware for special installations needs.
We will not accept substitutes for the artwork approved by the juror. Please also deliver an Artist Statement - We will not print this for you.
The artist must complete and sign the Consignment Contract before or during delivery.
Sales:
All sales will be processed through RPSC with 40% to RPSC and 60% paid to the artist within 45 days after the closing reception. All sold artworks will remain on display until the end of the show.
