RAC Members: $25 for 1 piece; $10 for each additional piece up to 5 pieces; Art Angels (Life Members- enter as Art Angel): $2 for 1 piece, $1 for each additional piece up to 5 pieces; Non-Members: $35 for 1 piece, $10 for each additional piece up to 5 pieces. Maximum of 2 pieces per artist can be juried into the show.
Submission Requirements:
Photos must be uploaded in .jpg format. The maximum file size is 5 mb. The minimum file size is 1000 kb (1mb) and the minimum image width is 2000 px.
Two dimensional work may not exceed 40 inches in length or height, including frame. It must be ready to hang with braided wire. No sawtooth hangers will be accepted.
For plexi-mounted art, secure picture hangers attached to the back frame structure are acceptable.
Canvases: canvases must have a minimum edge of 1.25 inches, must have clean edges and no visible staples. (Referred to as 'Museum Edge')
Three dimensional art may not exceed 36 inches x 36 inches. The artist must provide an appropriate base and be available to assist with the installation.
Work must be original, completed within last three years and not exhibited at RAC before. No giclees, other than for photography.
No renderings or copies of other artist's work.
RAC Policies:
Photographs of artwork may be used for publicity for the exhibitions. Please take a photo of your work before it is under glass to ensure that the photo does justice to it. You retain all rights to your work.
Chairperson's discretion: the chairperson may refuse any entry on the grounds of poor condition, oversize or unsuitability.
Sales: At least one piece of artwork must be for sale. If two entries are selected by the juror, one may be NFS. RAC will collect a commission of 30% on all sales.
Liability: Entries will be handled with all possible care, but artists submitting work agree to hold harmless the Rowayton Arts Center, their agents and employees from any claim of damage or theft that might arise from any cause whatsoever. Artists should arrange for proper insurance coverage for their work. Entry to the show constitutes agreement with all of the conditions stated above.
Waiver for Pictures Taken/Used: RAC documents each RAC exhibition with photographs. Entry into an exhibition at the Rowayton Arts Center constitutes permission to photograph you and/or your artwork, and to use an image of your artwork in promotional materials for the exhibition and for the Rowayton Arts Center.
ANY PIECE ACCEPTED INTO THIS SHOW IS SUBJECT TO A 30% SALES COMMISSION TO RAC. THIS RULE APPLIES EVEN IF THE PIECE SELLS VIA PRIVATE CONTACT, SOCIAL MEDIA OR VIA YOUR WEBSITE PRIOR TO DELIVERY TO THE RAC GALLERY.
