The Racine Arts Council is dedicated to promoting local visual artists by providing artists an opportunity to curate and/or exhibit in RAC's ArtSpace, 316 Sixth St. Racine WI at no charge.

RAC welcomes submissions for exhibitions for the remainder of our 2017 and into 2018 calendar. We encourage challenging and innovative work in all media. Submissions are reviewed by a committee of artists and art professionals. Each exhibit runs approximately seven weeks.

A $25 submission fee is required with proposal.

Submission Requirements:
Please read all submission guidelines prior to submission.

Preference will be given to applications where at least one of the artist group (comprised of curator and artists) is from or has ties to Racine with three or more exhibiting artists.

Artists/curators responsibilities:
- Hang the exhibit.
- Provide RAC with an inventory/sheet price list.
- Title cards.
- Provide RAC with a press release 6 weeks prior to show opening.
- Additional expenses for promotional materials such as fliers, posters and/or postcards are optional and the design and cost are the responsibility of the artists/curator.
- Be on hand at the opening reception.
- Handle all food, beverage, and entertainment related to the opening reception.

Racine Arts Councils will provide:
- Standard hanging material and tools.
- Gallery sitters during regular gallery hours: Fridays and Saturdays noon-5:00, First Fridays evening/ opening receptions 6-9pm.
- Limited pedestals.
- Lighting.
- Promotion through RAC's e-newletter and Facebook page.
- Submission of your Press Release to Racine Journal Times.

Additional Info:
- Each exhibit runs approximately seven weeks.
- RAC will receive a 25% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibit.
- Exhibits coincide with performance events at RAC.
- If you are unfamiliar with the space, please visit the space prior to submission.

Promotion:
- Racine Arts Council reserves the right to photograph submitted artwork for promoting this and future exhibitions.

Checklist for Submission:
1) Statement outlining exhibit proposal [100 words or less]. Statement should also include:
- Preferred exhibit timeline: . NOTE: You are not guaranteed your choice, but if accepted, RAC will try to accommodate if possible.
- List all exhibiting artists.
- Main contact person, including email and phone number.

2) Provide 4 digital images from each artist as examples of previous art work.

3) Label each image with the following information:
- Title
- Date
- Medium
- Dimensions

4) Provide brief bio/resume for each artist.

5) If proposed exhibit is a group show of 10 or more artists, please include only 16 representative images and a general bio of the group.
