JUROR OF SELECTION
Mary Whyte
Watercolor artist Mary Whyte is a teacher and author
whose figurative paintings have earned international
recognition. Her portraits are included in
numerous corporate, private, museum and university
collections. Whyte’s work has been exhibited in
many national venues, and in recent years has been
highlighted in exhibitions in China and Thailand.
The author of several books including Working South,
Down Bohicket Road, An Artist’s Way of Seeing and
Painting Portraits and Figures in Watercolor, Whyte
has also been featured in numerous publications including
International Artist, American Art Collector,
American Artist and Watercolor magazines.
JUDGE OF AWARDS
Stewart White, AWS, NWS
Stewart White, from Baltimore, MD, studied at the
Pratt Institute and has a BFA from UC Berkeley. He
is a transparent watercolorist with a background in architectural illustration who excels in plein air painting.
He teaches workshops here and abroad and is President of the Mid-Atlantic Plein-Air Painters Association(MAPAPA). White exhibits his paintings in juried and gallery exhibitions throughout the US. He is the Grand Prize Winner of the prestigious Easton Plein Air Festival and Plein Air magazine's Grand Prize Salon. He was a featured artist in McBride Gallery's June 2009 exhibit'Rising Stars: 10 Artists to Watch.'
