Philadelphia Pastel Society Second Annual Members Exhibition

Submissions are only accepted online through Entrythingy. There is a non-refundable $35 entry fee. Each artist may submit up to 2 pieces; with guaranteed acceptance of 1 piece of your choice. A second piece may be displayed based on the number of submissions and available room in the gallery. The additional pieces will be chosen by the exhibition committee.

Submission Dates: May 1 to July 1, 2021
Email Notification: August 9, 2021

Make sure your membership dues are paid in full through December 31, 2021 and the contact information you provide through Entrythingy is up to date. You will not receive notifications from Philadelphia Pastel Society if we do not have a correct email address.

Digital Entry Requirements:

Note: Your digital image should depict the painting only; no mat or frame.

All entries must be in jpg format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Image size should be 1200 to 1950 pixels on the longest side, with a maximum size of 5 mb.
Save your jpg file for your preferred acceptance piece as follows:
FirstName_LastName_1_ArtworkTitle.jpg
Use the same format for your second piece i.e. FirstName_LastName_2_ArtWork Title.jpg

All Artwork must be for sale. PPS will retain 40% of the retail sales price and/or 40% from any commissioned sales resulting from this exhibition. Pricing of the artwork is the responsibility of the artist.
NO PRICE CHANGES ARE ALLOWED FOR ANY REASON ONCE SUBMITTED

Eligibility:
Works must be original and be at least 80% soft pastel. Oil Pastels are not allowed.

All work must have been completed within the past 3 years (2018 or later)

Artists must be at least 18 years of age.

Your entry must not have been done under teacher supervision, either in a class or workshop or from a DVD or book. Photo reference must have been taken by the artist or have been granted permission by the photographer.

All work must be framed, wired and ready to hang. No saw tooth hangers or clip frames are allowed. If the work is matted the mat must be white or off white. For double mats, the liner should be no more than 1/4 inch wide.

Size Restrictions for framed work: maximum outside framed width 40 inches / maximum outside frame height 40 inches.

Entries not conforming to the above will not be accepted at intake.

Once accepted, work must be available for sale throughout the course of the exhibition.

All reasonable care will be taken in handling your work; however, Wayne Art Center and the Philadelphia Pastel Society do not assume responsibility for damage or loss of your work.

The Wayne Art Center will insure your works for the duration of the exhibition.
