Direct Purchase of Existing Artwork

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR IMAGES ONLY. You do not need to submit physical work at this time, but please be ready to deliver framed work if selected for review. All artwork must be original and hand-made. All work must be framed and ready to hang. No giclees or unfinished work will be considered. No more than two images per artist will be considered. The online instructions ask for the following information:
a) Current contact information for the artist
b) One or two images
c) Title, size, medium, sales price and the date the artwork was completed. No computer renderings or altered images should be submitted.
d) An artist statement, 300 words or less, about each piece submitted and why it should be selected to hang in a public facility.

Selection Process
? A Selection Jury will electronically evaluate work submitted. Finalists will be selected whose artwork will be further considered.
? Finalists will deliver actual artwork to 935 Gravier Street, Suite 850 for purchase consideration. If Finalists submitted two images for the Jury to consider through the online system, they may choose to submit both originals for final consideration. Finalists will be contacted by email by the Arts Council and must deliver their artwork on December 4 or 5, 2013.
? The Jury will determine the project winners. Please note that although you may submit two pieces for consideration, the Jury will not purchase multiple works from the same artists for the Percent For Art Collection. The decision of the Jury will be ratified by the Percent For Art Committee.
? Staff will contact artists with work not selected to pick up their artwork from the Arts Council’s office.
? The Jury, the Percent for Art Committee, and/or Arts Council reserves the right to reject any or all applications that, by its judgment, do not meet project requirements and to revise the selection procedure accordingly.
? All artists who enter will be notified by email of the Jury’s decisions by December 18, 2013.
