There are many design options for cars, for eyeglasses, and vehicles and tools of all kinds. Why are wheelchairs, walkers, and other adaptive devices left so far behind when it comes to artistry and design?
Opulent Mobility is a groundbreaking exhibit dealing with mobility, disability, and accessibility. The curators are A. Laura Brody, Anthony Tusler, and Celene Ryan of Arts Unbound.
We challenge you to imagine a world where mobility, disability, and access can be opulent.
We challenge you to approach the work with thoughtfulness, humor, creativity, and care.
Because if we do not imagine a better world, we cannot make one.
Opulent:
1. Characterized by extravagant, ostentatious magnificence: lavish, lush, luxurious, palatial, plush, rich, sumptuous.
2. Given to or marked by unrestrained abundance: Extravagant, exuberant, luxuriant, prodigal, profuse, riotous, superabundant.
This year we are pleased to annaounce that we're partnering with Arts Unbound in New Jersey. They will host the physical exhibit. The show will also be online at www.opulentmobility.com.
NOTE: Arts Unbound charges a 40% commission fee for any sales. Artists, please price your work accordingly!
