THE NEW ROCHELLE ART ASSOCIATION has a long tradition of promoting and supporting artists and the visual arts. Since its informal inception in 1912, the association has included among its membership many talented and internationally known painters, illustrators, and sculptors.
The NRAA sponsored its first annual juried show to celebrate the opening of the new city library. Some of the noted participants in that show of 140 entries included: sculptor Robert Aitken, painters G. Glenn Newell, Remington Schuyler, A.G. Heaton and illustrators Norman Rockwell, Joseph C. Leyendecker and Victor Forsythe.
Elegibility
Open to all artists 18 years and older. Artist may submit up to 2 entries. All 2D work must be suitably framed, minimum .75 inches (gallery wrapped canvas is acceptable), wired and ready to hang. Please note: sawtooth hooks will not be accepted at delivery. All work must be finished and completely dried. Size of 2D work must not exceed 36 x 48 inches. inclusive of outside edge of frame. Triptychs (all three parts) should keep within the size parameter requirement. All sculpture must be firmly attached to a base. Crafts may not exceed 18 inches in height due to display case size limitations. All work must be hand delivered and unpacked, and may not exceed 100 pounds.
There will be a minimum of $2,500 in cash awards distributed throughout categories.
