CASH AWARD:
A $1,000 Best in Show Award, sponsored by the Fantasy Fountain Fund and the National Sculpture Society, will be awarded during the course of the show.
SAUSALITO CENTER FOR THE ARTS:
Since its inception in 2021, the Mission of SCA was to enrich the cultural experience of Marin and unite community through diverse artistic expression for the benefit of all. Their programs are meant to build connections, create dialogue, and transform community through understanding, inclusion and acceptance.
GUIDELINES:
Artists are asked to submit their very best work.
As this is a regional show, we expect that most artists will deliver, install, de-install, and take back their sculptures, and will bring their own pedestals. Hand-delivered sculptures may be in any permanent medium. Terracotta, plaster, ceramic, and works in other fragile materials may be considered, but only on the condition that artists assume all responsibility. All sculptors with works larger than 39 inches and/or heavier than 55 pounds need to coordinate installation with Shiva Pakdel, (415) 810-6089
or [email protected].
For artists who cannot hand-deliver their sculptures, these works must be non-fragile and no heavier than 55 lbs. Artists assume all responsibility for proper packaging and shipping of works. They will be installed and deinstalled by volunteers. There is a limited number of pedestals available. Use of pedestals must be coordinated with Lance Glasser, (408) 221-5481, [email protected]
CONTRACT:
All accepted sculptors will be asked to sign a brief contract stating that they agree to loan their accepted work of sculpture for the duration of the exhibition at Sausalito Center for the Arts. Contracts will also establish the retail price for all works intended for sale. Images of accepted works will be used for promotional and marketing purposes.
INSURANCE:
Insurance for individual works in transit and on exhibit is strongly encouraged and is the responsibility of the sculptor. SCA Show will provide security at the event and will provide overall event liability insurance.
SALES:
Sculptures accepted in the exhibition are not required to be available for sale. SCA Show will take 35% commission on sales; the National Sculpture Society will receive no commission from sales. Retail prices established in the contract will not be subject to change during the exhibition.
PEDESTALS & SIGNAGE:
SCA will provide pedestals. NSS will provide a banner and name tags. Individual artists are responsible for their own business cards, postcards, guest books, QR codes, and for hand-delivered art and pedestals.
