Fall Cohort at Moshava Art

The theme for this show will be “tradition.”

What do we take up and what do we pass down? What are the daily or annual rituals you gained from your family of origin? What are your own, and where did they come from? How are religion and ritual tied together? What is secular tradition? How do color and texture aid in conveying traditions? In what ways do our customs affect even our style of creating?

This call gives a wide interpretation, which we will narrow in response to the selected artists and their work.
Submit 3 completed works that connect with this topic.

- Open to artists aged 18 and above.

- Accepting a wide range of visual artforms including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, fabric/textile arts, and collage. Not accepting performing artists or writers.

- All submitted work must be ready to hang by delivery date with any framing finished and necessary hardware for hanging already installed.

- All artists must be open to the community building aspects of this cohort and will be required upon acceptance to sign an artist agreement outlining required attendance to certain events/dinners/sessions.

- Upon acceptance, all artwork may be subject to use on our social media and online presence in perpetuity, with credit to the artist.

- Artists may be asked to oversee certain viewing hours once the show has opened.

-Artists may receive a phone interview after acceptance, prior to the start of the cohort.
