Display space is in the Gallery portion of the Artistic Gallery framing store in Wheaton, Maryland.
There is space for approximately 80 pieces. Each member can submit 2 pieces. If the show is over-subscribed, we may have to reduce the number permitted to 1 per member. If the show is under-subscribed, then there may be an opportunity to show more than 2 pieces/member. If either case arises, we will let participants know before the delivery time.
There is also display space for miniatures, sculptures, and bin work for show participants. If you plan to display miniatures and sculptures, please make sure to register them as well since they will require labels. Bin work (up to 5/participant) does not have to be registered.
Key dates for the show:
Registration deadline: Wed, 9/19/2013 midnight
Delivery and hanging: Sat, 9/21/2013, 2:00 pm
Reception: Sat, 9/28/2013, 5-7 pm
Pickup: Sat, 11/2/2013, 2 pm
If you cannot make the drop-off time, you can deliver your pieces to the gallery early--just let them know the pieces are for the MAA show. If you cannot do the pick up time, you can pick up the following week--just let us know your plans.
All participants should plan to invite their friends and clients to the reception and bring food and drink.
For works sold, Artistic Gallery will take 30% commission. MAA will take no commission.
In addition to its normal show publicity efforts, MAA will be mailing postcards to over 1300 local Artistic Gallery and MAA customers. In addition, both MAA and the Artistic Gallery will send out email messages to their email-based client lists. So, at least 2000 people will be told about this show. We did this last year, and the show was well-attended and had sales. To help cover the cost of the postcards and mailings, there will be an entry fee of $15/participant.
Only hit 'Pay Now' when your entry is completely done and double-checked. This button will take you to the Paypal processor where you can pay the $15 fee by credit/debit card.
If you do not want to pay online but want a receipt for your fee, also click the 'Pay Now' button. On the left of the resulting page, there will be an invoice that you can print for your records.
If you do not want to pay by credit/debit card online and do not need the receipt, just complete your entry, don't click the 'Pay Now' button, and pay your $15 fee when you drop off your work.
If you do not pay online, your entry is not marked submitted, but that does not cause problems with show administration.
