Show Location: Brookside Gardens Visitor Center, 1800 Glenallan Avenue, Wheaton, MD 20902
Open to all MAA members--please make sure your membership is current before you submit your entry.
Only online show submissions from the MAA website accepted. Please follow the instructions located on the Resources page of the MAA website, www.MontgomeryArt.org, 'Registering Your Work Online for MAA Shows'.
In submitting your online entry, images are not required--skip the 'Browse' line and hit 'Upload'. Please double-check your entry before hitting 'submit'.
We have the whole display area in the Visitors Center!
Each member can submit 2 ORIGINAL pieces not larger than 24 inches x 30 inches OR 1 original piece larger than those dimensions. Pieces cannot have been shown in any previous shows at Brookside Gardens.
If we have more work than wall space, MAA will select what work will be hung (striving to ensure each submitting artist has at least 1 work displayed in the show, if possible). Artists with work dropped off but not hung will be notified about arrangements for picking up their work.
On the other hand, if insufficient work is submitted, participating artists may be allowed to submit additional pieces.
Subjects of artwork should be evocative of nature themes (gardens, florals, landscapes).
Works must be framed and already attached with screw eyes and wire for hanging. Please use plexiglass instead of glass for larger pieces if glazing is used. No wet canvases.
The 'hand of the artist' must be visible and dominant in constructing the artwork even if digital tools are used. If a digital piece is not 'one of a kind,' the piece should be numbered as with a limited edition. Photography is not accepted. MAA and Brookside Gardens reserve the right to reject work considered inappropriate.
We will show only original artwork and will not include the selling of bin work in our show.
There is no MAA entry fee to participate in this show. Sales of artwork will be handled by Brookside Gardens and a 30% commission will be taken by Brookside.
Registration Deadline: September 6, midnight
Delivery: Mon, September 17, 9:30 am
Pick-Up: Mon, October 15, 9:00 am
Please be prompt for drop-off and pick-up. Show hanging will occur right after delivery, and unsold pieces must be picked up promptly on October 15 as there is no storage space available.
John MacArthur is the registrar for this show and any questions can be directed to him at [email protected].
