Mississippi River Art and Photography Shoot Out Online

Under DESCRIPTION enter the title of your photograph or art and tell us where on the river it was created. EXAMPLE: Sunset over the Clark Bridge, near Alton, IL. Paintings inspired by the river and surrounding areas, 3D art using materials from the river area or are inspired by the river. We encourage a broad range of subject matter for the exhibit.

Subject matter could include: the river, riverscapes and special places, all seasons, weather conditions, day and night; river wildlife, habitat influenced by the river, the environment and ecology, river recreation, people living working and playing on the river, river commerce including all facets of commerce along the river and people that work on the river.

The Mississippi River does not need to appear in the art, but the subject must directly relate to the river. As an example, wildlife such as eagles or trumpeter swans may be soaring above the river, but the river is not seen. This would be considered an acceptable entry.

ENTRY FEE: Artists and photographers may submit up to 5 images of art. Each entry is $10.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Images must be submitted in .jpg, or jpeg format. They must be RGB Color and no larger than 2000 pixels on the longest side. The minimum resolution is 300kb, maximum file size 3.5MB. Title each JPEG file with an image # using the following format:
yourlastname1.image title.jpg
yourlastname2.image title.jpg
EXAMPLE: Jones1.Chain of Rocks Sunset.jpg.

The art and photographs you submit must have been made within the last three years (2014, 2015, 2016). Images previously submitted are not accepted.
