Metropolitan Community College's 16th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition

ENTRY INSTRUCTION
All entries must be original works, and completed within the past year. Works of art produced in any media may be submitted. Time based media (video, animation, performance, etc.) must be submitted via video file. Installation based work may require an additional written description at the discretion of the jurors or Gallery Director.

Each entrant meeting the above criteria can enter a maximum of three submissions to the exhibition. There is no fee to submit artwork to this exhibition. As with all juried exhibitions, submission of work for consideration is not a guarantee of acceptance, and is at the discretion of the jurors.

Notification of Jury results will be posted online (http://www.mccneb.edu/humanitiesvisualarts/studentartexhibition.asp) and on the door of the Gallery of Art and Design, Elkhorn Valley Campus and in Building 6, Fort Omaha Campus by 5:00pm, Wednesday, March 23. Awards will be announced at the opening reception on Wednesday, April 20.


CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE
ACCEPTED ARTWORK DUE APRIL 11-12, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
All accepted works must be hand delivered to the Gallery of Art and Design at the Elkhorn Valley Campus. Each piece must have the name of the artist and the title of the work attached. The exhibitor will provide MCC with professionally presented work. All work must be ready for installation. 2-D works must be framed and ready-to-hang (no clip and string frames), digital work must be in DVD format. All installation or unusually installed work must come with installation instructions. MCC reserves the right to deny any artwork that is not professionally presented, or for any other reason.

Accepted artwork may not be removed from the exhibition before the closing date of May 21, 2016.

Entry into the 16th Annual Student Art Exhibition conveys copyright permission for Metropolitan Community College to reproduce your work for our educational materials, website(s), social media sites, and publicity purposes.



ARTWORK PICK UP
All artwork must be picked up from the gallery between Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24. Any artwork not picked up during this time will become the property of MCC, who cannot guarantee safe keeping or storage of the work.


SALES
Artwork included in the exhibition will be eligible for purchase, or purchase awards, provided the piece is for sale. Artwork that is Not For Sale should be labeled NFS, and will be exempted from such opportunities. Entries submitted as POR (Price On Request) will not be accepted, as MCC does not serve as a sales agent, and cannot provide such information to potential buyers. Inquiries for sales will be directed to the Artist, who will arrange for any sales arrangement with the prospective buyer.

INSURANCE
Metropolitan Community College is not responsible for damage to or loss of artwork submitted, although care in handling, and while on display, can be assured. Return of accepted works to artists is the responsibility of each artist.



CALENDAR
Artwork submission deadline: Thursday, March 17

Notification of acceptance: By 5:00pm, Wednesday, March 23

Artwork drop off: April 11-12, Monday-Tuesday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Opening Reception/Awards Ceremony: Wednesday, April 20, 5-7:00pm (awards announced at 6:00pm)

Closing: Saturday, May 21

Artwork Pick Up: Monday, May 23 - Tuesday, May 24 during open gallery hours.
