Youth & Student is a non-juried exhibits of original artwork comprising crafts, digital art, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture by Youth (preschool through Grade 4) and Students (Grades 5 -12).
All youth and student who attend a Marblehead based school (art or otherwise), or live and reside in Marblehead, may submit an 'Individual' submission. 1 per child please. School submissions are at the discretion of each school's art teacher, and selected from their student body.
Please help us keep the Youth and Student Exhibit free to all students to enter! We greatly appreciate donations to keep it that way.
Awards:
Students Exhibit (Grades 9-12): People’s Choice Award
Student Art Awards (Grades 9-12): Best of Show ($50 prize), (2) Outstanding Work ($25 prize), (4) Honorable Mention
Student Art Awards (Grades 5-8): (4) Honorable Mention
Youth Art Awards (Pre-K-Grade 4): Ribbons for each entry.
Special Awards: Debra and Jack Highberger Award, Nordia Kay Award.
The Debra and Jack Highberger Award, initiated in 2012, may be awarded annually to an artist entered in either Youth or Student Art Exhibits whose work demonstrates a love and commitment to art, and a proficiency and depth of theme, message, or evoked emotion that transcends his or her chronological age.
The Nordia Kay Award was established by the Kay family. The purpose of this award is to identify and give recognition to a young artist whose work shows premise as reflected in their creativity, design, use of black/white, and overall application of the selected medium.
