The Loft Artists Association in Stamford, Connecticut, Calls for Zing! Joyous Art.
This year's Juried Exhibition, titled ZING', seeks traditional and unusual artworks inspired by positive energy. This Zing should communicate directly to the viewer through color, line, form, composition, and/or content . It should move hearts and minds viscerally, intellectually, cognitively, and/or spiritually. Kind and original humor is welcome.
Artists are encouraged to explore diverse mediums, including everyday found objects to create works that challenge and intrigue.
Abstract and representational artworks in 2D and 3D formats, including select installations will enrich the exhibition. Only original work will be accepted, Glicee prints, copies and/or reproductions will not be accepted .
Beth Gersh Nesic, Visiting Juror and Independent Curator, invites artists to submit works that celebrate art that projects joy, positivity, excitement, good energy, humor. Artists are encouraged to apply by the April 6th, 2025, deadline. Detailed submission instructions are available on the Loft Artists Association's website. Pick-up: Sunday, June 8th, 3-5pm, and Mon. June 9th, 11-1pm.
Awards & Opening Reception: April 26th, 2025, 5-7 pm.
Artists' Walk+Talk: May 10th, 2025 2pm.
On View: April 26th, - June 8th, 2025 Hours: Sat & Sun 1- 4PM

Submission Guidelines

Open call for all artists. Entry Deadline: April 6th, 2025.
The Juror requests that you submit a brief statement about the artwork as well as a description of the medium/media, the dimensions and the directions for display . We discourage interactive work that requires touching, as this may harm the work of art .
All Categories: Abstract and representational artworks in 2D and 3D formats, e.g. Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, Digital Art and Mixed Media.
For sculptures, the maximum height is 6 ft.
Entry is no guarantee of selection.
Entry Fees:
LAA Members: $25 for 1 piece; $10 for each additional piece (up to 5).
Non-Members: $30 for 1 piece, $15 for each additional piece (up to 5).

About Beth S. Gersh-Nesic, Ph.D:
Beth is the director of the New York Arts Exchange, an arts education service that offers lectures, tours, catalog essays, and curatorial services in the New York tri-state area. She is also a staff writer for Bonjour Paris, an online arts and culture magazine. Her more recent books are Pablo Picasso, Andre Salmon and Young French Paintings ( Za Mir Press, 2022) and Aydan Before Moonlight a translation of La Fille de la Lune by Jean-Luc Pouliquen ( Za Mir Press, 2024). She recently retired from teaching undergraduate and graduate art history courses.
