About Link & Pin Gallery:
Link & Pin Gallery was founded by Debra Newby-Watkins more than ten years ago, inspired by her artist mother, Clara. The gallery is a progressive, artist-centered space where creatives can not only exhibit their work, but also find community and shape its future.
The name 'Link & Pin' comes from the old method of connecting railroad cars. Located near the tracks, the gallery embraces this image of connection, bringing artists together and linking them to new opportunities.

About Clara Newby:
Clara Eva (Foster) Newby (1925-2025) was a prolific artist and beloved family matriarch who lived nearly 100 years. From her earliest lessons as a child during the Great Depression, she carried a lifelong passion for creating art.
Clara studied with respected teachers like Simon Michael and later traveled widely, painting scenes inspired by Europe, Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii. Over the decades, she explored many mediums, from acrylics and watercolors to collage, sculpture, and even alcohol inks. Her watercolor 'Beguiling Bluebells' won the 2004 Wildflower Days contest, earning her the title of Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Artist of the Year.
Clara's work appeared in countless shows and found homes with collectors worldwide. Just as important, she generously shared her skills by teaching adults and children alike. always encouraging curiosity and reminding students there was no such thing as 'doing it wrong.' Even late in life, she delighted in creating alongside her ten great-grandchildren. Clara painted until the very end, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, kindness, and dedication.
