Juneau Arts and Humanities Council Gallery 2014 - 2015

Eligibility
All interested individual artists and art groups may apply. One of our goals as a membership- supported Alaskan organization is to support artists from Southeast Alaska. Preference will be given to Southeast Alaskan artists, particularly JAHC members in good standing.

In the case of receipt of an abundance of applicants, preference will be given to artists who have not shown in the JAHC Gallery within the last two years.

Novice exhibitors are encouraged to contact the JAHC staff early in the process for guidance and assistance.

Media
The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council welcomes original work created within the last three years in any media, not previously exhibited in the JAHC Gallery. Preference will be give to art work that has not been shown elsewhere, unless the exhibit is a retrospective of the artist's work, or there are other considerations that make previously exhibited work appropriate. Artwork should not violate city, state, or federal laws or endanger viewers.

Note: Please indicate on statement if you are willing to share an exhibit with another artist should the panel offer that.
Please also indicate any months that you CANNOT exhibit, and which month you prefer to exhibit.

Terms
1) Applications for exhibitions are considered once a year for the following gallery season (September through August).
2) Deadline for submission is April 15th, 5 p.m, or, if April 15 is a Sunday, on April 16 at 5 pm.
3) Artists are selected by a panel of advisers, including members of the JAHC board and members of the art community. The JAHC Board of Trustees reviews and gives final approval to the selections.
4) Final gallery selections are partly based on the match between applicants and the JAHC mission and goals.
5) With the intention of creating a strong exhibit, JAHC may offer a shared exhibit to artists whose work seems to be supported and enhanced by another applicant?s work.
6) Applicants will be notified by the end of May.
7) Exhibitions will run for a period of approximately one month, and will be scheduled at a time mutually agreed upon by JAHC and the artist.
8) The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council takes a 25% commission on all JAHC Gallery sales. It is expected that at least 50% of the artwork exhibited will be for sale.
9) Artists must sign an Artist Gallery Agreement.
10) Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of application proposals. JAHC is not responsible for lost proposals or proposals not picked up after 30 days.
11) Artists are responsible for the packing and shipping of art pieces to and from the gallery for exhibit (if necessary). JAHC will manage shipping of sold pieces.

Agreement
Submission of application constitutes agreement on the part of the artist with the terms and conditions of the JAHC Exhibition Application Prospectus.
