2016-2017 JAHC Gallery Artist Application

ELIGIBILITY:
All interested individual artists and art groups may apply. One of our goals as a membership-supported Alaskan organization is to support artists from Southeast Alaska. Preference will be given to Southeast Alaskan artists, particularly JAHC members in good standing. In the case of receipt of an abundance of applicants, preference will be given to artists who have not shown in the JAHC Gallery within the last two years. Novice exhibitors are encouraged to contact the JAHC staff early in the process for guidance and assistance.

MEDIA:
The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council welcomes original work created within the last three years in any media, and not previously exhibited in the JAHC Gallery. Preference will be give to art work that has not been shown elsewhere, unless the exhibit is a retrospective of the artist's work, or there are other considerations that make previously exhibited work appropriate. Artwork should not violate city, state, or federal laws or endanger viewers.

NOTES/SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
January 2017 (JAHC Juried show), February 2017 (Wearable Art show), and April 2017 (UAS Student show) have been blocked off for delegated community exhibits.

Please indicate on statement if you are willing to share an exhibit with another artist, should the panel offer that.

Please indicate any months that you CANNOT exhibit, and which month(s) you prefer to exhibit.


AGREEMENT/COMPLETE ENTRY:
Submission of application constitutes agreement on the part of the artist with the terms and conditions of the JAHC Exhibition Application Prospectus.

A complete entry will consist of:
1) 40.00 fee paid to the JAHC (call 586-2787 for credit card, mail to 350 Whittier St, Juneau AK 99801, stop by the front desk). Fee waived to JAHC members in good standing.

2) Artist Statement and Gallery Proposal: 1 paragraph each description of your mission and/or background of your work, and your proposal of what you would like to do in the Gallery Space. Please write this in the 'Artist Statement' section.

3) Resume/Exhibition History: A 1-paragraph description of your experience in the art field, and a list of any previous exhibition history. Please write this in 'Resume' section.

4) 8 photos/files of your work, with title, dimensions, material, price (NFS ok), and year.
